Today is August 29th and I will be departing tomorrow for a three-month adventure throughout Europe, Africa and South America! Right now, I am feeling a little nervous and apprehensive. It is difficult to leave behind my life here in Newport Beach but that is why this whole thing started, to shake things up a bit!

I am fortunate to have Lindsey traveling with me for the first four weeks of the trip and I am sure we will have some great stories to share with you.

Here is an outline of my itinerary as of today:
August 30 - Depart LAX
August 31 - Arrive Barcelona
September 2 - 5 Arrive Sevilla, explore So. Spain (Tapas and all)
Sept. 5 - Depart Granada for Naples
Sept. 5 - 13 - Italy! Wine, pasta, beauty, culture, fashion, men.....
Sept. 13 - 21 - Tanzania -- Lions, Giraffes, Elephants, beautiful sunsets... a very different experience than Italy.
Sept. 21 - October 9 - Cape Town/Johannesburg (Lindsey departs on Oct. 1)
October 9 - 31 - Volunteer at Makalali's Siyafunda Conservation Initiative

http://www.siyafundavolunteers.co.za/
Both websites above provide info on what I will be doing, etc.
October 31 - November 7 - TBD. I am going to try to do some volunteer work at a private reserve close to where I will be while at Siyafunda. His name is Tinus and I cannot get in touch with him here but hoping once I am in So. Africa, I can do so.
November 7 - 14 - Buenos Aires! I am meeting back up with Lindsey and also Debra Rorex and Marra Okola. More friends may join us on this leg since I think Argentina is such an amazing place! But I am so excited to travel with Marra and Deb (and of course Lindsey). We are still not 100% sure what we are doing while in Buenos Aires but we discussed maybe going to Iguazu Falls or Uruguay too.

I feel as if I have already started my adventure since the preparation with leaving has been something of an experience. I have had many going away parties, happy hours, dinners, etc. I think my liver is more excited about this getaway than I am! :) I realize leaving that I have such an amazing group of friends and a supportive and loving family that is behind me.

Thanks to my friends and family who have offered their support, encouragement, well wishes and information on the places I am going.
